Overview

Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software creates a secure, encrypted connection between your off-campus computer and the campus network. Members of the University community can use VPN software to connect securely to the campus network from off-campus. This software, called Pulse Secure, must be downloaded to your computer, installed and configured. To connect using the full VPN client, download it below, install and configure it as directed.

Install and Configure Pulse Secure client for iOS and Android devices

• Download Client. Apple OS X: Junos Pulse Client 5.0. Double click on the download and then the package icon; Click “Continue” Click “Install” You will be prompted for user credentials. This would be the user name and password with the ability to install software on this Mac. If you are unsure please contact InCHIP IT.
• VPN Tracker is the leading Apple Mac VPN client and compatible with almost all IPSec VPN, L2TP VPN and PPTP VPN gateways (Try VPN Tracker for free).Please refer to the following table to find out if the VPN Tracker team has already successfully tested VPN Tracker with your Juniper Networks.

Juniper Networks provides high-performance networking & cybersecurity solutions to service providers, enterprise companies & public sector organizations. /Library/Application Support/Juniper Networks/tncc.jar /Library/Application Support/Juniper Networks /Library/Logs/Juniper Networks; Ensure Java plug in is enabled on the Mac. After all the above steps are complete, reboot the Mac, install the client, and attempt to connect. Connection Issues.

Install and Configure Pulse Secure client for Windows and Mac OS X

Please use the following instructions to configure your new VPN client. After installing, users should login via the client and not via the Connect button at sslvpn.uconn.edu

Step 1:

Download the installer that is appropriate for your OS.

Step 2:

Run the downloaded installer.

Note: Some users on OSX may need to command-click/control-click, and then select “Open” if an error about an unidentified developer is encountered.

Step 3:

Launch the now-installed application.

1. Click the ‘+’ button to add a new connection.
2. Enter sslvpn.uconn.edu for the Server URL.
3. Enter “UConn VPN” for the Name.
   If ‘Type’ is requested, choose the option that lists SSL-VPN.
4. Click Add.
5. Click Connect, and enter your NetID (not InCHIP ID) and password into the form.
6. Click Connect again.

You should now be successfully connected and able to access UConn resources.
