A common problem for new Mac users is to find an application missing from the Dock. Or, to find that it only appears when the application is running. Items can also go missing from the Finder sidebar or the desktop. This video explains why these can disappear and how to get them back.

To restore Dock settings: Restore the com.apple.dock.plist file to ensure the old doc setting is restored. Log off and log on the user on the device or restart the Mac device. Navigate to the directory in which the folder appears. /halo-universal-application-download-for-mac.html. Drag the folder into the sidebar. While still dragging make sure you’re seeing a blue insert line, rather than another item’s highlight. Open a Finder window and go to your user folder In the user folder you should see the downloads folder Drag the downloads folder to the place you want it in the sidebar Drag the Downloads folder to the right side of the vertical bar in the Dock. Restore the Downloads folder in the Dock. First, we open the Finder; Then go to the top menu and click on the Go menu. Then click on the Start option.
